Cows may soon be smarter than you. That is, they will be more like a smart device. Cow monitoring company SmaXtec has developed a way to put a small processor inside dairy cows. This, it claims, can identify health issues before the cow's own anatomy has acknowledged it using a combination of onboard sensors and artificial intelligence. "This technology goes back beyond ten years of experience," explained Stefan Scherer, CEO of SmaXtec, whose background is in physics and computer science, not dairy farming. "Originally, it was just a research project."
