Working Student — Editorial & Content (Financial Crime)
Amsterdam | ~15 hrs/week | Hybrid (1 day/week in Amsterdam)
Business Radar is a fast-growing SaaS company based in Amsterdam. We equip organisations with Company Risk Intelligence, covering adverse media, sanctions, and other compliance risks. We do this by combining global data with smart technology.
We’re looking for a Working Student with a genuine nose for a story and a fascination with how money, power, and regulation intersect.
This is not a standard content role. You’ll be writing pieces that actually matter: articles for industry publications, SEO-optimised blog posts, LinkedIn content, and other editorial work. The raw material is rich: financial crime, corporate misconduct, regulatory shifts, AML and sanctions developments, and the companies and markets where all of this plays out.
If you find yourself genuinely curious about why companies fail, how financial crime unfolds, or what regulators are actually trying to achieve, you’ll fit right in here.
What you’ll do
- Research and write articles for external magazines and industry publications
- Write SEO-optimised blog posts on topics like financial crime, adverse media, compliance, and risk
- Draft LinkedIn posts and short-form editorial content
- Dig into regulatory updates, enforcement actions, and corporate news to find angles worth writing about
- Collaborate closely with the team during your day in Amsterdam each week
You won’t be expected to know everything from day one. We’ll help you find your footing in the subject matter. Your curiosity and writing ability are what will take you far here.
What we’re looking for
- Currently studying journalism or a related field — what matters most is a journalistic mindset: the ability to research thoroughly, find the right angle, and make complex topics readable
- A genuine interest in financial crime, financial markets, corporate misconduct, and/or regulation
- Strong writing in English — clear, confident, and adaptable across formats and audiences
- Curious, self-directed, and comfortable taking a brief and running with it
- Based in Amsterdam and willing to come into the office at least one day a week
Nice to have
- An interest in technology or data — given what we build, it comes up
- Additional languages beyond English are always a plus
- Writing samples you’re proud of, published or not
What we offer
- A competitive hourly rate of €15–€17 gross, depending on your experience
- ~15 hours per week, with flexibility around your study schedule
- Real work with real impact and experience
- A front-row seat to an industry where the stakes are genuinely high
- A small, sharp team that takes the work seriously and likes working together
- Applicants must already have the right to work in the Netherlands and be enrolled in university.
You don’t tick every box? That’s fine. We care more about curiosity and writing ability than a perfect CV. If this role excites you and you can make a case for yourself, we’d love to hear from you.
If after reading through this entire job description, you think “I could see myself doing this!“, we would love to hear your motivation to join Business Radar and explore whether Business Radar is the right place for you to grow. Just fill in the form below.
