German construction group Hochtief confirmed yesterday that it was studying a cash bid for TBI, the company which owns and operates Luton, Cardiff and Belfast airports.Though Hochtief, one of the largest construction companies in the world, insisted that its consideration of a possible bid was at a very early stage, the announcement pushed TBI shares up by almost a fifth.
