CRC Worx Construction of Robeline has begun construction of a seawall along the west side (Mill Street)of Cane River from the north crossing of the Union Pacific railroadnorthward to the Riverside Reserve Wedding Venue. The purpose of the project, which is funded by the City of Natchitoches, Cane River Waterway Commission and Cane River National Heritage Aresa, is stabilization of the riverbank to ensure safety for boat traffic and other recreational uses on Cane River in the area. No docks, moorings, cleats, or boat slips will be constructed as part of this project. Construction began earlier this month and is expected to take some 130 days to complete.
