European and international institutions provide 62,000 jobs in the Brussels region
BRUSSELS (time) - About 10 percent of Brussels employment and 13 percent of the Brussels gross regional product (GRP) this year can be directly or indirectly attributed to the presence of European and international institutions in the capital. This is evident from a study by Iris Consulting, commissioned by the Brussels Minister of Economy Jos Chabert (CVP). The European and international presence in Brussels has beneficial effects on employment and economic growth, the study shows. The European and international presence in the Brussels region is good for 62,000 jobs this year, 7,000 more than in 1994.
