CMA approves project that suspends limits for artisanal fishing of mullet - Senate News
The Environment Commission (CMA) approved the Legislative Decree Project (PDL 119/2025), by Senator Esperadião Amin (PP-SC), which sustains the effects of the interministerial decree setting limits on mullet fishing in the south and southeastern regions of the country. In the case of beach drag fishing in Santa Catarina, the limit is 1,100 tons this year. For the rapporteur, Senator Jorge Seif (PL-SC), the ordinance invades the competence of the states to legislate and regulate artisanal fishing. The project approved on Tuesday (10) was sent for deliberation in the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ).
