CWT steals second place from Amexco |
(time) - Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) is selling more airline tickets in our country this year than competitor American Express (Amexco). This is evident from the sales figures of tickets from traditional airlines (IATA). Low-cost airlines and charters are not included. After eleven months, CWT has risen by 14.5 percent and overtakes Amexco, which lost 1.8 percent. BCD Travel is the undisputed market leader after the merger of TQ3 with Worldtravel, but both former brands also grew faster than the market. The biggest jump came from Uniglobe with a plus of 28.1 percent. Moreover, total IATA sales through travel agents only increased by 2.5 percent. European air traffic without budget flyers increased by 4.5 percent.
