Hytera Communications Chinese radio transmitter equipment manufacturer Plead guilty in US court on Tuesday (January 14) on allegations that the company former executive and seven other employees conspired to steal and use Motorola Solutions trade secret information. Hytera admitted to stealing documents and source code related to its proprietary digital mobile radio (DMR) technology. Motorola was used in the development of the company's mobile radio equipment. This is the case that the US Department of Justice filed against Hytera in 2021. Former executive Gee Siong Kok pleaded guilty in 2023 and is awaiting sentencing. The remaining six employees are currently on the run. At first the US government demanded criminal damages against Hytera as high as $900 million (approximately 31,131 million baht), but the court later reduced it to no more than $60 million (approximately 2,076 million baht)...
