Study: Training in electrical and metal must be aligned with transformation -
Automation and digitization belong more to Chemnitz, May 14, 2025. In order to cope with the transformations in Saxon automotive construction and other industries, vocational training should also change. For this purpose, a study by the "Research Institute for Operating Education" (F-BB) pleads on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Chemnitz. Accordingly, the teachings for typical supplier professions in the metal and electrical sector have to be streamlined and more versatile. Vocational training more attractive and realistic are particularly important to integrate skills into the training that are used for automation and digitization in industry. For example, "future -related technologies, procedures and systems that have so far only been conveyed via optional additional qualifications would have to be integrated directly into the training. This includes mechanics, electronics, automation technology and information technologies.
