Sophos discovers "digital remnants" exposes companies to risk of attacks on edge devices on the Internet |
Sophos released the 2025 Annual Threat Report, revealing the major security threats faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in 2024. According to the report, the primary way for attackers to invade the network is through network edge devices such as firewalls, routers and VPNs, which account for nearly 30% of the initial intrusion cases. The report notes that VPNs are the most common intrusion point, accounting for more than 25% of all incidents and one-quarter of ransomware and data leaks.
