Centrica concludes interconnector contract with German gas distributor Thyssengas
(bloomberg/time) - British natural gas distributor Centrica confirms that it has signed a contract with German natural gas distributor Thyssengas for the supply of 3 billion m3 of natural gas from next year to 2005. British natural gas will be transited to Germany via the interconnector, the undersea natural gas pipeline between East England and Zeebrugge, and the Distrigas pipeline yet to be built between Zeebrugge and Eynatten. Centrica is the former sales department of British Gas. The British natural gas company was split into two separate companies in February, Centrica and BG, which includes the production and exploration activities and natural gas transport and storage of subsidiary Transco. In Great Britain, Centrica still operates under the name British Gas.
