Geomit and Cmaa establish a partnership for biomethane production in Minas Gerais
Geomit, Joint Venture between Mitsui Gas and Energy from Brazil and Geo Bogas & Carbon, signed a memorandum with the Minas Gerais sugar and alcohol company (CMAA) to develop a biogas plant at the Vale do Tijuco plant in Uberaba (MG). The project will use sugarcane waste, such as vinasse, filter pie and bagasse, for biomethane production. The technology employed was developed by Geo, which already has partnerships with other companies in the sugar and alcohol sector. Mitsui, a shareholder of several channeled gas distributors, will facilitate the commercialization of renewable gas generated. In addition to the Vale do Tijuco plant, CMAA operates two other plants in Minas Gerais: the Vale do Pontal unit and the Canápolis Unit.
