Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hori Kenichi; hereinafter referred to as "Mitsui & Co., Ltd.") and Mitsubishi Chemical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Chikumoto Manabu, hereinafter referred to as "Mitsubishi Chemical") will jointly work to recycle resources for plastic containers and other items used and discharged at stores of Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Seven-Eleven"), which will be opening at the Kansai Expo in Osaka, which will open on April 13th, 2025. In this initiative, we aim to collect plastic food container trays and other items used and discharged at two 7-Eleven stores at the Kansai Expo venue in Osaka and in plastic collection boxes installed at each store, sorted and treated, then turned into oil through chemical recycling, and recycled resources as various plastic products. Mitsui & Co. will purchase the recovered plastics and build a collection scheme.
