On the evening of October 9, Guotai Junan's share exchange, absorption and merger of Haitong Securities and raising supporting funds and related party transaction plans were disclosed. On October 10, Guotai Junan's H shares resumed trading. Previously, New China Insurance (01336) increased its holdings of Guotai Junan Hong Kong stocks on August 30. The average transaction price was HK$7.8 per share, and the number of shares increased by more than 160 million shares. At the end of the period, the number of shares held reached 423 million shares. On October 10, Guotai Junan's H shares rose by 55.07%, with a single-day increase of HK$4.354 per share, corresponding to an increase in the market value of the company's positions by HK$1.84 billion.
